Funeral services for Franklin “Bud” Smith Turner, 69, of Leland will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola. He died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Teoc, MS under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Bud was born in Teoc, MS and later moved to Sledge, MS where he married Patsy Allred. Bud was employed by Walker Farms Dairy and later Wonder Bread prior to starting his own business Turner Enterprise in 1984. Bud was an avid squirrel hunter, coon hunter and he also loved to ride his horses. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Patsy Allred Turner; 2 sons, Todd Turner (Leah) and Wade Turner (Reagan); sister, Becky Sanders (John) of Downsville, LA; brother, James Raiford Turner (Janet) of Marks, MS; 6 grandchildren, Ben Turner (Heather), Courtney Turner, Jane Aden Turner, Mary Catherine “Catie” Turner, Chance Turner and Laura Elizabeth Turner; and 2 great grandchildren, Averie and Mollie Turner.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Parkview Baptist Church, P.O. Box 169, Leland, MS 38756.
