Funeral services for George Breen Baroni, Jr.,78, will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville, MS. Visitation hour is from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Internment will follow at Lakeview Gardens. He died peacefully at home on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
He was born to George and Sasta Baroni on September 7, 1944. He grew up in Greenville and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1962. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing cars, playing golf, and going to see the Rebs play. He was the owner of Engine Rebuilders for 47 years. He loved his family, his church and of course his Ole Miss Rebels.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Celeste Battista, son Breen, and mother-in-law Ginger Williams. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail, daughter Christina (Scott) Jonely, brother Charles Baroni, the light of his life 2 granddaughters, McKay and Mary Britton Jonely, a special sister-in-law Brenda (Mike) Hughes, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Moss, Verdell Johnson, David Cole, Michael Hughes, Jack Hughes and DA Magee.
