Graveside services for Gladys Lee Bennett, 99, of Greenville will be at 2:00 pm Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Greenville Cemetery. She died Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, Mississippi. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home of Greenville.
Gladys Lee Bennett was born on December 18, 1924, in Portsmouth, VA to Paul and Gladys Lee. She lived most of her life in Greenville, Mississippi, where she married her husband, Stanford Bennett. She worked as an LPN at Kings Daughters Hospital until her retirement. She then spent time in Kinston, North Carolina, and Surf City, North Carolina with her sister Eileen. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and visiting relatives. In most recent years, she has been under the care of wonderful sitters at her home in Greenville. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Gladys Lee, sister Eileen Lee Childers, brother Robert Lee, husband Stanford Bennett, and son Joseph Stephen Bennett.
She is survived by her grandchildren Beth Bennett Stinnett, Joseph Stephen Bennett II, and Amy Bennett Davidson, and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St.Joseph Catholic Church.
