Funeral services for Gladys Louise Shirley, 97, of Hot Springs Village, AR and formerly of Greenville will be at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 2 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home, 1580 S. Colorado. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 28. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Shirley was born on July 9, 1920 in Sunflower, MS to Ollie and Bertha Flanagan. She worked at Greenville Mills until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister, her husband of 72 years, Albert Shirley, son, Ray Shirley and a grandson, Michael Shirley.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Criswell (Ronnie) of Hot Springs Village, AR; Daughter-in-law, Margaret Shirley; 6 grandchildren, Kim Ball (Richard), Scottie Criswell (Bryna), Cynthia Laubach, Chris Criswell (Tami), Kim Heckman and Rhonda Cosby (Gary) and 16 great grandchildren, Lindsey and Zachary Nobles; Karston, Preslie, and Harbor Criswell; Desire’, Chance and Jeremy Laubach; Christopher, Brittney, and Kameron Criswell; Christian, Benji and Hannah Heckman and Luke and Haley Cosby.
There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Chaplain Herb Morgan of Dierken’s Hospice, Hot Springs, AR will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or a favorite charity. The family would like to give special thanks to Dierken’s Hospice of Hot Springs, AR for their wonderful care of Mrs. Shirley the past 4 years.
