Funeral services for Gladys Stuart McCorkle, 89, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Boone Funeral Chapel in Hollandale. She passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Legacy Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. McCorkle was born on February 25, 1930 in Carroll County, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Esters McCorkle and parents, Louis and Bell Eades Stuart.
Gladys and Esters were blessed with five children, Charlotte McCorkle Lepelletier, Margie D. McClellan (Bill), William McCorkle (Gail), Ricky McCorkle (Lurline) and Ray McCorkle (Becky); eight grandchildren, Rick McClellan, Racheal McCorkle, Shelby McCorkle, Hampton McCorkle (Kelly), Connie Mah (TJ), Ronnie Robinson (Lisa), Christy Mitchell (Jimmy), and Will McCorkle; eighteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Charlesworth, Lucille Rickles and Sybil Markham and three nieces.
There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home chapel in Hollandale. The family request no flowers, but would like memorials to be made to Blair Baston Children’s Hospital in Jackson, MS or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
