Inge Karen Karlson Self

Funeral services for Inge Karen Karlson Self, 79, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1 at Calvary Baptist Church. She died Sunday, February 25 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

She was born on December 6, 1938 in Ketchikan, AK and was a graduate of Ketchikan High School in 1956 and was Miss Ketchikan in 1956. She married Frank Self in 1959 and made her home in Greenville in 1975. Mrs. Self graduated from Delta State University at age 60 with a degree in Medical Social Work. She worked for Grace Hospice for 14 years and loved every minute of it. 

She was loved by everyone and you never saw her when she didn’t have a smile. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Julia Karlson. She is survived by her husband, Frank (C.C.) Self of Greenville; daughter Karen Suzett Whorton of Greenville; grandson, Tyler Wayne Whorton of Greenville; brother, John Daniel Karlson of Ketchikan, Alaska and over 300 nieces and nephews. 

There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gideons for Bibles.
