Funeral services for J. D. Campbell, Jr., 92, of Greenville will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 18 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Tuesday, January 15 at Merit Health Central in Jackson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Drew, MS where he received his education. Mr. Campbell worked on the family farm until enlisting in the U. S. Army in 1945. Before joining the Army he married Jessie Newton in 1945. After he was discharged from the Army they made their home in Carrollton until moving to Greenville in 1951. Mr. Campbell was employed with Rose Oil Company, then later Peter Pan Bread which became Holsum Bread. After that he worked for Walker Farms Dairy until becoming employed with Grenada Farms from which he retired in 1989. Mr. Campbell was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Campbell of Greenville; two daughters, Brenda Campbell Shoffner of Greenville and Bevely Campbell Peeples of Fortney, TX; two sons, J. D. Campbell III of Greenville and Rogel Glynn Campbell of Fortney, TX; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 17 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
