Funeral services for James Benjamin House, 88, of Arcola will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21 at Boone Chapel, Hollandale. He died Saturday, October 17 at his home. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery.
Mr. House was born on February 24, 1927 in Hampton, MS to Frank Allen and Minnie Lee Mayfield House. He worked for Illinois Central Railroad for 36 years, and he also worked for Hollandale School District and Deer Creek School.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by 3 brothers, Bilbo, Jack and Jessie. He is survived by his wife, Hannie House, son, Danny House (Brittany), 2 step-sons, Michael Willoughby (Sheila) and Edward Willoughby (Carol); 4 sisters, Mary Crowell, Bertha Mosley, Ethel Wright, and Ruby Waldon and brother, Robert Roberts and by 2 grandson, Christopher and Owen House.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20 at Boone Chapel, Hollandale.
