James Clark McGough

Funeral services for James Clark McGough, 77, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 6 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home. He died Friday, March 3 at his home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

He was born in Indianola, MS moving to Hollandale where he graduated from high school. Mr. McGough enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was discharged as a Sonarman Seaman. After his discharge he made his home in Greenville. He started his career in the Towboat Industry and retired as Towboat Captain from Canal Barge Company out of New Orleans.  

Mr. McGough was a member of Gamari Road Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a love for fishing and hunting with dogs. 

He is survived by his wife, Reba Jones McGough of Greenville; 2 sons, Charles “Buster” McGough of Colony, TX, Jay Martin (Zondra) of Arcola; 2 daughters, Patricia McGough of Arlington, TX and Penny Nimmo of Arlington, TX; grandson, Pierce Martin; 2 brothers, Otis McGough of Greenville and John R. Mosley of Greenville; sister, Elizabeth Mosley Hanners of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. 

There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
