Funeral Services for James Lamar Evans, 78, of Greenville, MS will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Greenville. He died on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at his home. Burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Marty, Mike, Harold, Bubby, Grady, Ted, Coy, and Howard Evans, and sisters, Hilda Griffin and Mildred Vance.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Evans; two sons, James Lamar Evans, Jr. of Greenville, MS and Larry Wayne Evans of Greenville, MS; sister, Charlotte Naron of California; three grandchildren, Russell Evans, Jason Evans, and Magan Evans; and four great-grandchildren, Ty Parker Fields, Isabella Kaylee Layton, Wyatt Lamar Evans and Sawyer Evans.
There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
