Jane Conn Hovas

Jane Conn Hovas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died peacefully at home on April 7, surrounded by her family. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, April 11. 

Born in 1934 to Anna Laura Dickerson and Earl Jefferson Conn, she grew up on her family’s Prairie Plantation near Benoit, MS. She graduated from Benoit High School and attended MS State College for Women and Delta State University. 

Jane was an accomplished flower arranger who loved to arrange for family, friends and her church, as well as exhibiting competitively in flower shows throughout the South. She was a former president of the Greenville Garden Club and a Garden Club of America Emeritus Floral Design Judge. She served on the First Presbyterian Church Flower Committee for over fifty years. 

She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Earl Jefferson Conn, Jr. and her son, Stephen Conn Hovas. She is survived by her husband of over 64 years, Reginald R. Hovas, daughter, Katherine of New Orleans, LA , son, Richard (wife Elizabeth) of Dallas, TX, grand-daughter Laura Hovas Richman (husband Scott) of New York, NY, and grandson, Reginald A. Hovas, of Dallas, TX. 

The family would like to thank Delores Fulton, Tiffany Brown, Dorothy Carter, Gloria McNeal, Shontell Brown, Shirley Walker, Taylor Bussey, and Sue Montgomery whose care and affection greatly enhanced the quality of her life during her long illness.
