Memorial services for Jane Marshall Vause Kellner, 90, of Greenville will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at St. James Episcopal Church. She died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Delta Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
To her many friends, she was known as “Chuddy”. Born in Charleston, MS on December 24, 1923 to Louis Oscar Vause and Dale Marshall Vause. She graduated from Charleston High School and from Mississippi State University where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She married Ernest Victor Kellner III in June 1947 and they moved to his hometown of Greenville.
Chuddy loved her family and family history. She could entertain for hours and regularly held court during the holidays. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of two bridge clubs, each of which met every week. She was a longtime member of the Greenville, MS Kennel Club and enjoyed attending dog shows across the country.
Chuddy was a respected life-long educator, having taught kindergarten at the St. James Episcopal Church Preschool and taught English and Reading in the Greenville Public School system for 33 years. She was an active communicant of St. James Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Judge Ernest Victor Kellner, III by her parents and by her brother, Louis O. Vause, Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Marshall Kellner and son, Ernest Victor Kellner, IV both of Greenville; a sister, Mary Ida Ross also of Greenville and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
