Janice Carol Cox

Funeral services for Janice Carol Cox, 58, of Marks, MS will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2022 at Boone Funeral Home, Indianola. She went home to Jesus surrounded by family on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Tutwiler Cemetery in Tutwiler, MS.

She was born to Fred Carpenter and Beatrice (Gatlin) Carpenter on January 21, 1964. She was a member of Marks First Pentecostal Church. Janice was a homemaker and loved working with her flowers. She loved her family dearly in the good and the bad times. Her relationship with God kept her humble, so she could handle everything that came her way. A beautiful lady that never met a stranger. She had so much love to give. Her smile would light up any room and her hug would make you forget all your worries.

She is survived by her fiance, Robert Hamm of 12 years; sons, James Eston Cox, Jr. of Leaksville, MS and Jerry Cox of Marks, MS; step-daughter, Joyce Moore (Johnny); sister, Margie Diane Waldo of Calhoun City,MS; brothers, Richard Carpenter (Nancy) of Calhoun City, MS and Kenneth Carpenter (Nancy) of Cleveland, MS; grandchildren, Mason Bagwell, Christopher Cox, Trace Cox, Michael Allen Cox, and Lisa Branch; three great granddaughters, Chelsea Minga, Mary Minga and Carol Minga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eston Cox and parents, Fred and Beatrice Carpenter.

There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Louie Nappa will officiate. The family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN (www.stjude.org/donate)

Pallbearers are Ryan Carpenter, Brandon Carpenter, Shane Carpenter, Jason Waldo, Wesley Minga and Mike Edge. Honorary Pallbearers are Hunter Carpenter, Trace Cox, Mason Bagwell, Christopher Cox and Michael Allen Cox.
