Graveside services for Janice “Pudgie” Carder, 73, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Greenville Cemetery, The funeral procession will begin at 1:30 p.m. from Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. Janice passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Delta Health-The Medical Center.
Janice was born July 2, 1951, in Memphis, TN. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1970, and she married the love of her life, Larry Carder, Sr. shortly after. Janice spent much of her career in administrative roles and as a dispatcher in the towing industry.
She was a mother to ALL, not only to her beloved sons Larry and Chris. Yet her greatest pride in life was her two grandsons Chase and Michael. Janice was a joy to everyone who met her, never afraid to speak her mind, but it always came from love. Pudgie was not a person who was easily forgotten, when you met her you loved her. She will be remembered for all of the love and help she gave to others, including opening her home to anyone in need.
Janice is survived by her son, Larry Carder II, sisters: Linda Cohea and Patricia Whisler, her beloved grandsons Chase Carder (mother Casey) and Michael Carder (mother Frankie) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Bessie Sweeney, husband Larry Carder, Sr., son Chris Carder, and nephew Buddy Atkins, among many others.
Pudgie was a woman of faith, strength, courage, and love. She was an adoring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her compassion and understanding will forever live in our hearts.
Pallbearers will be Chase Carder, Michael Carder, Joey Duvall, Stevie Atkins, Donnie Farmer, and Scott Davis.
