Funeral Services for Janis Kay Tice Allen ,age 65, of Belzoni, MS, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She passed away Monday, April 22 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS after a battle with cancer. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She loved using her artistic abilities to make flower arrangements for many occasions. She was a God- fearing woman and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Louise, MS. She loved horror films. She was an avid reader of murder mysteries. She was published in an anthology which is in the Library of Congress. In her early years she was a beautician and loved making people feel good about themselves. In high school she earned the nickname “Sunshine” since her smile could light up any room. She loved spending time with her family. She was very interested in her family genealogy and was particularly interested in her Cherokee heritage. She loved all holidays, especially Christmas. She always put extra effort into decorating, selecting gifts foe people, giftwrapping and baking desserts. Everybody always looked forward to her Broccoli Casserole she made on every Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved going to garage sales and thrift shops.
She is preceded in death by her father Darling Dempsey Tice and Hattie Bernice Foster Tice.
She is survived by her husband K. Edward Allen. Her daughters Stacy Sullivan Lane of La Crosse, WI; Shelly Benson (Robert) of La Crosse, WI and Sara Robinson (Richard Mc Nemar) of Pascagoula, MS.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Braxton, Alex, Hattie, Morgan, Nathaniel, Robert Jr., Naleigh, Jaxson, Sterling and Jon Brantley.
There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, April 26 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
