Funeral services for Jannie Louise Hood Smith, 80, of Mobile, AL and formerly of Greenville, MS will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Restoration Church in Greenville. She passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile, AL. Burial will be in Lakeview Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Jannie was born in Yazoo City, MS moving to Greenville with her family at an early age. In 2017 she moved to Alabama. Janie did landscaping and other specialty jobs throughout her life. She attended the Pentecostal church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Grady Smith and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggie Lyons, and husband Timothy and Sarah Horton and husband Gary; son, Edward Creel, and wife Melissa; two brothers, three sisters, eight grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
