Jasper Gamberini

Funeral Mass for Jasper Gamberini, 90, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He died Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at his home.  Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Gamberini was born September 23, 1928 in Greenville, MS to Geno and Josephine Gamberini. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended Greenville Public Schools.  Mr. Gamberini served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan from 1952-1954.  He retired from Tennessee Gas Pipeline after 39 years of service and from Sears as warehouse supervisor for 27 years.  He was a member of the Italian Club serving on the board of trustees and a member of the VFW and American Legion.  Other interests were playing cards, fishing and most of all working in his yard, receiving “yard of the month” for the third time at the age of 81.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Alex, Jimmy and Michael Gamberini, and grandson, Walker Greenlee.

He is survived by his  loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Marie; two sons, Jay Gamberini and Joey Gamberini (Amy); three daughters, Suzi Hughes, Sandra Greenlee (Vernon) and Kristina Garland (Dean); five grandchildren, Erica Brown, Miller Greenlee, Joseph Gamberini, Hannah and Abby Gamberini; and three sisters, Marie Blackman, Gloria Marshall (Wendell) and Linda Cocilova (David).

The family would like to thank Grace Hospice for their care.

There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday at the church.  The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
