Jeanette Ann Nelken

Funeral services for Jeanette Ann Nelken, 77, of Greenville will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will be the Greenville Jewish Cemetery.

Jeanette Ann Nelken was born to the late Eugene and Margaret Cooper in Port Arthur, Texas on October 26 of 1944. Jeanette, the life of every party she attended, passed away this past Sunday, June 26, in her home while surrounded by loved ones. Jeanette moved to Greenville in 1977 where she has planted many roots that spread far and deep in the Mississippi Delta. Jeanette worked at Pirmi Delta, Comet Rice, and ultimately retired from U.S. Gypsum.  She was a great friend, wife, mother, and a phenomenal grandmother.

Jeanette was blessed with a large family and is survived by the love of her life and husband, Benjy Nelken; children Dana Pigg and husband Gene Pigg, Jeff Jernigan and wife Desiree Jernigan, Stephen Jernigan and wife Teri Jernigan, and Hank Nelken; Sister Peggy Dugas of Houston, Texas, and grandchildren Abigail Jernigan, Ross Jernigan, Cooper Jernigan, Allen Jernigan, Matthew Jernigan, Ben Pigg, Meg Pigg, Noah Nelken, and Nash Nelken.

Jeanette carried an unmatched sense of humor and was the cause of many moments full of laughter. She was a storyteller, an avid Judge Judy fan, and above all she adored her grandchildren. Jeanette will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

There will be a visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
