Jeanette moved to Greenville in 1977 where she has planted many roots that spread far and deep in the Mississippi Delta. Jeanette worked at Pirmi Delta, Comet Rice, and ultimately retired from U.S. Gypsum. She was a great friend, wife, mother, and a phenomenal grandmother.
Jeanette was blessed with a large family and is survived by the love of her life and husband, Benjy Nelken; children Dana Pigg and husband Gene Pigg, Jeff Jernigan and wife Desiree Jernigan, Stephen Jernigan and wife Teri Jernigan, and Hank Nelken; Sister Peggy Dugas of Houston, Texas, and grandchildren Abigail Jernigan, Ross Jernigan, Cooper Jernigan, Allen Jernigan, Matthew Jernigan, Ben Pigg, Meg Pigg, Noah Nelken, and Nash Nelken.
Jeanette carried an unmatched sense of humor and was the cause of many moments full of laughter. She was a storyteller, an avid Judge Judy fan, and above all she adored her grandchildren. Jeanette will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
