Funeral services for Jeremiah Joseph Toten, 42, of Greenville will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at home. Burial will be in the Toten Family Cemetery in Blackhawk, MS at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
Jeremiah was a loving father, skilled bucket operator, and outdoors enthusiast. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on May 31, 1980 to Joey and Cindy Toten in Greenville, MS, Jeremiah displayed a love for the outdoors and adventure from a young age. As he grew older, he developed a passion for riding horses, racing, hunting, fishing, and riding his side by side. The outdoors became his sanctuary, where he could both challenge himself and find peace.
In his professional life, Jeremiah excelled as a bucket operator, taking great pride in his work. Jeremiah’s outgoing nature and humble spirit endeared him to everyone he met. His generosity and bravery continually shined through his actions, and he was known to put the needs of others before his own. Always the first to lend a helping hand or listening ear, he never hesitated to share his wisdom and experience with those who sought his guidance.
Jeremiah was preceded in death by his mother, Cindy Toten and paternal grandfather, Joseph Riley Toten and maternal grandparents, Fred and Patricia Crumley.
He is survived by a son, Joseph Toten (Alyssa) of Greenville, MS; two daughters, Danielle Toten of Florence, MS and Abigail Toten of Greenville, MS; father, Joey Toten of Greenville, MS; granddaughter, Korbyn Thompson of Florence, MS; siblings, Nikki Oltremari (Jason) of Meridian, MS, Jessica Tice (Chad) of Leland, MS, Steven Toten (Randi) of Greenville, MS and Jamie Toten of Greenville, MS; paternal grandmother, Iris Toten of Greenville, MS; and nieces and nephews, Braxton Toten, Ashton Toten, Ross Wicker, Lennon Oltremari, Saydee Oltremari and Jayden Toten.
There will be a visitation from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
