Graveside services for Jessie Phillip Estes, 79, of Greenville will be at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024. There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home in Leland. He passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at his home.
Jessie Phillip Estes was born February 18, 1945, in Tchula, MS to the late James and Johnnie Orr Estes. He was married to his wife, Cheryl Cothran Estes for 50 years. He was a truck driver for years traveling all over the United States. Phillip loved dirt track racing and was always tinkering on his car. He won numerous championships as a crew chief for his brothers, son-in-law, and grandson. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman in previous years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Johnnie Orr Estes, brothers, Elton and Curtis Estes, and sisters, Eva Whittle, Etoil Frazier, and Geniese Kimes.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Estes of Greenville; one daughter Melissa Jennings and husband Robert; two grandchildren, Erin Keith and husband Benjamin of Winona, MS, Joshua Jennings and fiancé Jimmie Whatley of Greenville, MS; two great-grandchildren, Jessie Claire and Jace Jennings; two brothers, Douglas Estes and his wife Brenda, and Jimmie Estes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and racing family.
Pallbearers will be Carl Kilgore, Kenny Runnels, Gary Muncher, Edward Estes, Jimmie Estes II, and Dewayne Estes, Shane Hawkins, John Keith, Darrell Russell, and Clay Kendall.
