Jewell Mosley Turnage

Funeral services for Jewell Mosley Turnage, 95, of Hollandale will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 27 at the Boone Chapel in Hollandale. Jewell had a peaceful passing into The Golden Gates of Heaven on Friday evening November 23. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

Mrs. Turnage was born August 23, 1923 to parents Bruce and Emma Bagley Mosley in Thomasville, AL. At an early age her two brothers and herself moved to Hollandale area buying land to pursue farming. She attended Arcola Public School and Hollandale Public School along with her brothers.

Mrs. Turnage was employed at the Hollandale Clinic for twenty-five years from which she retired.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, two beloved brothers, J. W. (Mosley Duck) and Waymond (Pop) Mosley, and a sister, Emma Ferguson. She is survived by her only child Anna Katherine (Dr. Les Torrans), one much loved grandson, Greg Bell (Amanda) and the most precious gift of all, a great grandson Parker, one step-son, Bobby Woods (Hilda Jo) and his three children, Terri, Mike, and Shellie.

There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Boone Chapel. Reverend Dennis Salley of Hollandale Baptist Church will officate and Jimmy Mosley will be assisting. The family request memorials be made to Hollandale Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Turnage who loved her church and church family.
