Funeral services for Jimmie Dean Box, 72, of Greenville, MS will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday August 7, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Delta Health – The Medical Center. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
He was born on September 10, 1948 in Hollandale, MS to Marshall Edward Box and Ruth Marie (Bentley) Box. He married his Love, Margaret Garcia, on May 4, 1973. He attended Mississippi Delta Community College night school where he obtained his electrical license and worked at Southern Fasteners as plant manager and part-time farmer for many years. After retirement he became a full-time farmer. He was a very loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His happy play time was spent with his family, friends, his good girl, Molly(pet), or in a boat with a fishing rod in hand.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Box; daughter, Deana Mosley (Jamie); grandchildren, Jay Holley (Ashley), Hunter Holley, and Malorie Box; great grandchildren, Jordyn Holley, Elliot Holley, and Allison Box all of Greenville; brothers, Rodney Box (Marcie) of Greenville, Randy Box (Linda) of Denver, CO, and Mark Box of Memphis, TN; sister-in-law Sylvia Box of Alabama and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Edward and Ruth Marie Box of Greenville; sons Jonathan Box of Greenville and Michael Box of Fayette, AL; brothers Kenneth Box of Greenville and Jerry Box of Alabama.
There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
