Jimmy Carl Nobile

Funeral services for Jimmy Carl Nobile, 70, of Moorhead will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 5 at Moorhead United Methodist Church.  He died Saturday, January 2 at his home.  Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Boone-Card Funeral Home.

Mr. Nobile was a life-long member of the Moorhead community.  He was born April 3, 1945 to Gus and Pauline Farley Nobile of Moorhead.  Mr. Nobile was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Browning Nobile and his son Robert Ward Nobile.

He attended Moorhead High School and graduated from Mississippi Delta Junior College in 1967.  Mr. Nobile farmed around Moorhead and then served as a member of the MDCC campus police for twenty-five years.  He was also a member of the Moorhead National Guard and discharged with rank of Sergeant.  Mr. Nobile was a faithful worshiper at the Moorhead United Methodist Church.

Those who knew Jimmy remember him as being a kind-hearted, funny person who never met a stranger.  He always had a smile and could tell a story like no other.  He loved his three sons and the light of his life were his grandchildren.  He was an avid supporter of MDCC, Delta State and Co-Lin baseball.  Jimmy was known as an expert fisherman and hunter.

Mr. Nobile leaves his two sons, Jamie Carl Nobile of Moorhead and Bryan Browning Nobile (Lauren) of Brookhaven; grandchildren Parker Browning Nobile, Lucy Kathryn Nobile, Ava Presley Nobile and Coleman Cooper; brothers Ricky Nobile (Mary) of Purvis, Dennis Nobile (Pam) of Moorhead, sister-in-law Beverly Mixon Nobile of Indianola and longtime friend Beth Jenkins of Indianola; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David Nobile, Danny Nobile, Will Nobile, Wayne Nobile, Jackie Jenkins, Kurt Owen and Jerry Nobile.

There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, January 4 at Boone-Card Funeral Home, and a visitation one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.   Memorials may be made to Moorhead United Methodist Church, PO Box 690, Moorhead, MS  38761.
