Funeral services for Jo Helen Potts Watson, age 77, of Greenville will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 27 at First Baptist Church, Greenville. She died peacefully at her home Monday morning, December 23. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home.
Jo Helen was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on February 23, 1942, the daughter of Dorothy Leopold Potts and Will Hollingsworth Potts. At an early age she moved to Laurel, Mississippi where she attended and graduated form high school. She moved on to MUW and graduated with a degree in Speech Pathology. She married Paul H. Watson, Jr. on July 11, 1964. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 44 years and enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved gardening, homemaking, playing bridge, and spending time with her S.O.S. group (Sisters of Summer), special MUW friends for the last 60 years.
Jo Helen is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Paul H. Watson III. She is survived by her husband, Paul H. Watson, Jr. of Greenville; a daughter, Leeana Carpenter (Chris) of Greenville; 2 sons, Will Potts Watson (Angie) of Madison, MS and Larry Maynard (Krissy) of Terry, MS; and 13 grandchildren.
A visitation will be held one hour before services at the church on Friday.
