John Allen Bardwell

Funeral services for John Allen Bardwell, 76, of Greenville will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday at Boone-Smith Funeral Home. He died Thursday, December 8 at his home. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in his family cemetery, Jenkins Cemetery in Sumner, MS. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

Mr. Bardwell was born in Crowder, MS on February 3, 1940. He moved to Greenville in 1964 and in 1973 he married Barbara McKay. Mr. Bardwell was retired from U.S. Axminster. He was a longtime member of Gamari Road Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Londred Bardwell and Audrey Jenkins Bardwell; and by 4 brothers, Wayne, Joe Fred, Wiley and Clyde. He is survived by his wife, Barbara McKay Bardwell; 2 daughters, Tracy Lyons (Robbie) of Greenville and Velina Martinez of Memphis, TN; a sister, Frances Barger (VL) of Cleveland, MS; 4 brothers, Ray Bardwell (Nancy) of Vicksburg, MS, Carl Bardwell (Bonnie) of Hot Springs, AR, Richard Bardwell (Mary Helen) of Durant, MS and William Bardwell of Las Vegas, NV; 3 grandchildren, Aaron Lyons (Amanda), Spencer Lyons and Natalie McManus and 3 great grandchildren, Kade Lyons, Zadie Love and Devin Tolliver. 

There will be a visitation from 12:00-1:00 p.m., Sunday at Boone-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack DeMoney will officate the services.
