Funeral services for John Everette Guyton, 79, of Hollandale will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Boone Chapel, Hollandale. He died Friday, April 24, 2015 at Baptist Hospital East, Memphis. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery.
He was a native of Hollandale where he graduated from Hollandale High School. He served 12 years in the U. S. Army and after his discharge he returned to the Delta where he was employed with Con Agra in Isola as maintenance supervisor retiring in 1997. Mr. Guyton also owned and operated an upholstery shop, Guyton Upholstery. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Guyton was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. and Daisy Robinson Guyton and by two brothers, Gene Guyton and Norman Guyton.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Elliott Guyton of Hollandale; daugther, Valerie Guyton Clyde of Greenville; 2 sons, Dale Sanborn of Ham Lake, MN and John “Butch” Guyton of Greenville; sister, Vera G. Roush of Mountain View, AR; brother, Joe C. Guyton, Jr. of Greenville and 5 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Boone Chapel.
