Graveside services for John K. Day, 91, of Greenville will be at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, August 27 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. He died Friday, August 25 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mr. Day was born in Greenville on January 25, 1926 to Anna Middleton and Cecil C. Day. He graduated from Greenville High School and attended Mississippi Delta Community College. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy serving during World War II. Mr. Day was employed with Tennessee Gas Pipeline for 40 years retiring in 1984 as Plant Foreman.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joann Day Sorey and his second wife, Bertha Woods Day.
He is survived by a son, John Kenneth Day, Jr. of Lake Village, AR; 3 daughters, Dabney Day of Santa Monica, CA; Patricia Hodges of Ennis, TX and Lisa Mascagni of Bartow, FL; 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m, Sunday, August 27 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home, 1580 S. Colorado St., Greenville. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in John’s memory to your favorite charity.
