John Kinley Toten, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. The funeral service was held at 10 am at First Pentecostal Church of Jackson on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Interment was in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery at 2 pm.
Mr. Toten was born in Sunflower County, MS to the late Roden Ellis Toten and Doris Trice Toten. He was employed by Watkins Trucking and later retired with FedEx. He received numerous awards but one that he was most proud of was the Safe Driving Award for 27 years. He loved working in his yard and creating beautiful landscapes. After retiring, he moved from Orlando, FL to Madison, MS to be close to his daughter and at the time, his first grandson. And a few years later the arrival of his beautiful granddaughter and he was happy to share pictures, videos and stories with you any time you’d listen.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Aileen McMillon, and brothers, Marion, Kenneth, Cecil, Glenn and Tommy.
Survivors include his daughter, Shae Willis and her husband Rob, both of Madison; his grandchildren, Jonah and Sabie Willis; sisters, Kathryn Harris of Spring, TX and Mae Johnston of Pearl and numerous nieces and nephews.
