John Wesley Cope II

Funeral services for John Wesley Cope II, 80, of Hollandale will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Hollandale First United Methodist Church. He died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home in Hollandale. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery. 

John was a native of Hollandale where he graduated from high school. He then graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BA in finance. Furthering his education he went to the Louisiana State University School of Banking. After returning to Hollandale he married Ann Nunnery. He was employed with the Bank of Hollandale where personal relationships with customers was a priority. He retired as President after 40 years of dedicated service. 

John loved his family, friends and especially the Ole Miss Rebels. He also enjoyed many years of flying. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Duncan and Floy Cope and 2 brothers, Duncan Cope and DeLoach Cope. He is survived by his wife, Ann Nunnery Cope of Hollandale; 2 daughters, Michele Cope Proctor (Kendric) of Lake Jackson and Sylvia Cope Duncan (Robert) of Greenville; son, John Wesley Cope III (Marie) of Oxford; sister, Floy C. Leuenberger of Summerfield, FL and 7 grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 25, Hollandale, MS 38748 or to Hollandale First United Methodist Church, 110 E. Washington Street, Hollandale, MS 38748.
