Johnnie Evelyn Stokes Riley

Funeral services for Johnnie Evelyn Stokes Riley, 93, of DeKalb, TX will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home, Greenville. She went to be with her Lord and Savior in Texarkana, TX on Saturday, July 30, 2016. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery, Glen Allan, MS under the direction of Boone-Smith Funeral Home, Greenville. 

Mrs. Riley was born on December 14, 1922 in Louisville, MS to the late Albert and Lela Stokes of Glen Allan, MS as one of eleven children. She graduated from Glen Allan High School, and on October 31, 1945 she married the late Clifford Elmo Riley in Hollandale, MS, who she had been corresponding with while he served in World War II. The couple lived in Glen Allan for many years before moving to Greenville after a fire destroyed their home. Many years after her husband’s death she moved to Crystal River, FL to enjoy a different climate and spend time with family. 

She is preceded in death by four of her children, Clifford (Bubba) Riley, Jack Kennedy Riley, John Nelson Riley, and Amanda Carol Riley. 

She is survived by her remaining three children, Rita Ann Comfort (Otis) of DeKalb, TX, Sandra Elizabeth Weaver of Star City, AR, and Billy Ray Riley of Marietta, GA; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
