Josephine “Josie” Strazi Rollins

Funeral Mass for Josephine “Josie” Strazi Rollins, 73, will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Greenville. She went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2020. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville, MS.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents, Dilemma and Alma Mangialardi Strazi; her son, Rodney Rollins, Jr.; her sister, Mary Andrzejewski; and brothers, Bobby Strazi and Peter StraziShe will be deeply missed by daughters, Sheila (George) Kirby of Castle Pines, CO; Donna (Meggan) Rollins of Hoxie, AR; and Rebecca (Rich) Smoker of Gulf Breeze, FL; sisters, Shirley (Jack) Sandrus of Altoona, PA; Patricia McGraw of Greenville, MS; and brother, JoJo Strazi of Greenville, MS; grandchildren Michael Kirby, Joseph Kirby, Drew Carollo, Amy Miller; and her sweet, great-grandchildren. Josie will be reunited in heaven with her son, Rodney Rollins, Jr. and the love of her life, Billy Reeves.

Josie was born in Greenville, MS to Dilemma and Alma Mangialardi Strazi. Josie was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and a resident of Greenville for most of her life. She was a highly respected and dedicated servant of the Greenville law enforcement community, first as a longtime assistant to Chief of Police, Robert Skinner and later appointed as a Washington County Justice Court Judge. Josie retired from Bunge Towing in 1996. She held many titles throughout her life, but her favorites were Mama, Mom, Grandma, Aunt Josie and Nonni.

Josie enjoyed cooking, serving her church community, shopping and spending time with friends and family. She was known for her quick wit, strong will, playful sense of humor and loving devotion to her family.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Greenville, MS.
