Kathleen “Kicky” Ellis Stovall passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on February 10, 2024. Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Leland Presbyterian Church sanctuary. A visitation before the service will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Services and burial will be in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
She was born March 13, 1938, in Lexington, Mississippi to parents Guy Kenner Ellis and Ellanor Hooker Ellis. She was raised in Greenville, Mississippi.
Kicky was an Air Force wife for 13 years before moving back to her hometown of Greenville with three sons. She met and married Jody Stovall and moved to Leland where they lived for 52 years, raising their three boys on the family farm. Kicky worked for many years at Main Frame retail store and also with good friend Dot Meeks in a floral design business, decorating for many Delta weddings and parties.
Kicky was a member of the Leland Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, Honorary Life Member of Presbyterian Woman, Session Clerk, as well as on many local and Presbytery-level committees. Additionally, she served on the Board of Directors for several organizations including Delta Group Home for Girls, Bachelor’s Club, and Delta Debutante Club. She was also a member of the Leland-Deer Creek Garden Club, Delta Music Association, and Leland Main Street. Kicky enjoyed many years of sailing and traveling with family and friends. She was an avid gardener.
Kicky is survived by her husband, Jody Stovall; three sons: Greg Patton of Oxford, Mississippi, Clyde Patton (Minnette) of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Kenner Patton (Stephanie) of Leland, Mississippi. She was very proud of her four grandchildren: Spencer Patton, Ellanor Patton, Kathleen Patton, and Camille Patton.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Magee, Don Cook, Evan Smith, Richard Taylor, Hartwell Huddleston, Mark Brown, Sanfrid Schaifer, and Cameron Dinkins. Honorary pallbearers are William Smith, Shaifer Bell, Leslie Bell, Tommy Hendrix, Ralph Owens, LeRoy Deavenport, Dan Branton, and Russell Brown.
The family would like to thank all those who are providing support, kindness, prayers, and love during this difficult time. Memorials may be made to Leland Presbyterian Church or the charitable organization of your choice.
