Graveside services for Kenneth Rea Brent, 83, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Strong Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson, MS. He passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at his home. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
He was born in Copiah County, MS on August 26, 1937. He was a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Junior College receiving his Associates degree in Business. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Mr. Brent retired after 40 years as a Vice President in the insurance industry. He has lived in Greenville for the past 23 years with his wife, Sharon Rose Wooten Brent of 59 years.
Mr. Brent was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenville where he made many good friends and had many good times.
He loved fishing, hunting and golf. He loved nothing more than to talk about his grandchildren to anyone who would listen. He is best known for telling big tales.
He is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Victor Brent, his mother, Melissa Mae Edwards Brent, a brother, Floyd Brent, two sisters, Donnis Brent Matthews and Annette Brent Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Rose Wooten Brent, and two lovely daughters, Melanie Rose Brent Maresco (William) and Rhonda Renee Brent Lewis (Ricky); four wonderful grandsons, Michael Maresco, Mark Maresco, Jarrett Maresco, and Hayden Lewis (Michelle); two brothers, Cecil Brent (Joyce) and John Ed Brent (Gwen); a sister, Dale Granger (Hal); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
