Kevin Jerome Tharp, 49, of Greenville, Mississippi passed away on September 1, 2024. He was born on August 20, 1975, to Cecil and Barbara Tharp.

Kevin has worked as a master plumber for the majority of his life in the family business with his father and brother. He loved his job, and never believed in overcharging. As a matter of fact, he would’ve plumbed for free. He would say, “Kristin I have to be able to sleep at night”. He had even thought about starting a nonprofit plumbing company through Plumbers Without Borders. He traveled the world and is said to have had dinner with Ralph Lauren while in France. He once jumped from a moving towboat going down the Mississippi and swam to the banks because he was ready to get the heck off that boat. He loved riding in the country in the evening time while taking pictures of sunsets and would pull over during rainstorms to record even the most ferocious lightning storm. He liked making still frames of the lightning. He felt most rewarded by pulling over to help anyone and everyone if they were having car trouble or needed help in anyway. It didn’t matter if he was running late, he would always stop. He had a heart of gold and would give his very last dime to a stranger on the street. Above all things in this world, his greatest love was his family. He cherished his parents Cecil and Barbara and his brothers Stan and Brent. Anyone lucky enough to meet Kevin, fell in love with him and his smile. He had a way about him that would make anyone stop and listen. He made his mark on this Earth and will be greatly missed.

Kevin was predeceased by his grandparents, Jack and Mable Tharp and Columbus and Lela Gilliand.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Cecil and Barbara Tharp of James Crossing, MS, his longtime companion, Kristin Cobb, one daughter, Harmony Dill Lindsay of Greenville, MS, and one son, Blake Franklin of Cleveland, MS. He leaves two brothers, Stan Tharp (Heather) and Brent Tharp (Haeleigh) both of Greenville, MS. He also leaves five nephews and two nieces, and two great-nieces as well as a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers for the service are Stan Tharp, Brent Tharp, Tyler Tharp, Greyson Tharp, Stevie Atkins, and Seth Spratlin.
