Larkin Eugene Tucker, Jr.

Larkin Eugene Tucker, Jr., 83, of Leland, MS passed away peacefully surrounded by his children and wife at The Ivy Memory Care Center in McKinney, TX on May 7th. Visitation will be at Leland Presbyterian Church from 12pm to 1pm with services to follow on Saturday May 11th 2019.  A family only graveside service will follow at the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery.  Arrangements are being provided by Boone Funeral Home in Leland, MS. 

Larkin was born in Greenville, MS on April 29, 1936.  He was the only son of Larkin E. Tucker, Sr. and Mildred Parker Tucker.  He graduated from Duncan High School, attended Hinds Junior College and received a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Mississippi State University.  He work for several years for Continental Gin Company as a design engineer and then regional sales representative.  Later he went to work for The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company where he worked for almost 50 years.  Larkin was a past president of the Leland Rotary Club where he was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow and was recognized with over 50 years of perfect attendance.  Larkin was a member of the Greenville Presbyterian Church.

Larkin was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife Norma Easley Tucker, daughter Michelle Tucker Gambrell along with her husband Charlie Gambrell of McKinney, TX, his son Larkin E. Tucker, III of Franklin, TN, granddaughter Brittany Gambrell Dryden along with her husband Cody Dryden of McKinney, TX, great-grandson Tucker Dryden of McKinney, TX, step-daughter Brenda Minix along with her husband Tim Minix of Allen, TX and grandchildren Troy and Amy Minix of Allen, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the following organizations: American Cancer Society, Leland Presbyterian Church, Leland Rotary Club, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
