Graveside services for Lee Edward Wallace, 86, of Greenville, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Stoneville Cemetery. He died the morning of Monday, April 24, 2017. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
He was an enthusiastic student at Greenville High School and was an outstanding athlete in all school sports, but primarily football. He continued to be involved with his associates at Mississippi Care Center of Greenville until his death. He was Catholic by faith.
Lee was a member of the 31st Dixie Division and was awarded a bronze star for his heroism in his tour of duty in Korea during 1951-52.
He was the son of his deceased parents, Robert Lee and Mabel Gathlen Wallace; and was a brother to his deceased sister, Audrey Stripling. His longtime and loving companion, Edith, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Burch; and a nephew, Raymond Stripling.
