Memorial services for Lisa Gladney Wiltcher, 60, of Leland will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home in Leland. She passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Delta Health-The Medical Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Lisa was born in Knoxville, TN, on January 11, 1963, to John and Marion Gladney. Her family later moved to Eudora, AR, where she received her education in the public schools.
In Eudora, she owned Squires Inn Restaurant and Motel, the local hardware store, and owned P & G Mini Mart with her sister, Kelly. While running her businesses, she continued her college education earning various associate degrees. In 1995, she married John Wiltcher and they made their home in Leland. She then attended Mississippi Delta Community College, earning her nursing degree. Lisa worked at Continue Care and Bolivar Community Hospital during her career.
Lisa was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, daughter-in-law, and mother-in-law. She loved her nieces and nephews as though they were her own, and all held a special place in her heart. She would host large family gatherings, cooking wonderful meals and telling jokes and stories that would have everyone on the ground crying from laughter. Her love for her family extended also to her pets as she was an avid animal lover. Lisa worked hard to make sure all of her patients were taken care of to the best of her ability. She met so many people working as a nurse and made lifelong friends. Lisa’s loving and kind nature was shown to anyone she encountered. Whether it was as a nurse to her patients or the matriarch of her family, her top priority was always helping others. Lisa was a light in the lives of those who love her and she will be greatly missed.
She was a member of Leland Presbyterian Church.
Lisa cared for her family so much, there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them, especially her husband, John III, and her son, Lil John. She is preceded in death by her father, John Gladney, and a nephew, Ross Popejoy. She is survived by her husband John Wiltcher III; son, John Wiltcher IV (Emily); sister, Kelly Popejoy (Jimmy); mother, Marion Patty Gladney; niece, Laurie Whitworth (Chad), nephews, Philip Bell (Crissie) and J.P. Popejoy (Chelsea) and mother-in-law, Bobbie Buckner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leland Animal Shelter.
