Funeral services for Lorena Ogden Pugh, 94, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home. She died Sunday, May 20 at her home. Burial will be in Lakeview Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Pugh was born on September 17, 1923 in Delhi, La to Johnny and Irene Ogden. In 1953 she moved to Greenville where she worked at Nicholson File beginning in 1988 and retired after 19 years of employment. She was a devoted member of Riverport Baptist Church since 1988. Her church and her family were her life.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Burnside and her second husband, Dorris Pugh; siblings, Johnny Ogden, Jr., Roberta Ogden Greer, Allene Ogden Burnside and Lillian Burnside; son, Bobby Burnside and infant granddaughter, Lorena Burnside.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie Brooks of Greenville; three sons, Johnny Pugh (Cathy) of Dublin, GA, Tony Burnside of Houston, TX and Clifton Burnside (Weezie) of Greenville; eleven grandchildren, Noland and Mallory Brooks of Greenville, Chip Burnside of Hattiesburg, Clay Burnside of Ellisville, MS, Alberto Burnside, Paloma Burnside Salazar and Sissy Burnside Medina, all of Xicotencatl, Mexico, Jimmy Burnside of Orange Park, FL, Donna Kay Burnside of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Rosie Burnside Fontenot of Ragley, LA and Micah Burnside of Enfield, CN; nine great grandchildren, Colby Brooks of Greenville, Noah and Jonah Burnside of Ellisville, MS, Kaley and Bobby Burnside of Orange Park, FL, Christopher Wesley and Zachary Guy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Christopher Bellow and Slayde Fontenot of Ragley, LA; and by a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wedneday, May 23 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home, 1580 S. Colorado St. The family would like to acknowledge with much love and thanks to the DRMC Hospice Team who took care of their mother, Melody and Jennifer especially. To Maddelyne Hamilton and her family also who were always there.
