Funeral services for Loretta Gammill Dickerson, 89, of Senatobia and formerly of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She went to sing with the Angels on Sunday, July 2, 2023. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Loretta was a walking history book at the age of 89. She worked 14 years as a cook on a towboat, which she loved. She was employed with Securitas Securities retiring as a patrolling security guard at Walmart. Loretta loved the Lord and loved going to church. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Peanut her little Chihuahua was her best buddy and didn’t leave her side.
She loved seeing her brother, George Beach of Clarksdale, MS. Loretta was the youngest daughter and George the youngest son of 7 children. George visited her just last week and that made her day.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, R. W. Gammill.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Patty Taylor, Kathy Caruthers and Beth Tolbert all of Senatobia, MS; 8 grandchildren, Chris Goodwin, Kelli Craft, Kandice Riley, Larry Goodwin, Amanda Hagan, Lara Scott, Sarah Leslie, Mike Tolbert II along with 12 great grandchildren.
Loretta will be greatly missed.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Brown will officiate the service.
