Funeral services for Lucille “Lou” C. Koeppe, 89, of Greenville will be held at noon on Tuesday, March 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Greenville. She died Friday, March 21, 2014 at Mississippi Care Center. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Koeppe was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on February 5, 1925 to Martha and William Kellner. She married William “Bill” Koeppe on November 27, 1947. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since moving to Greenville in 1962. Mrs. Koeppe was a former member of the St. Martha’s Sewing Circle, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and past president of St. Joseph Home and School Association. She was an avid bowler, a talented cook and seamstress who delighted in sharing these gifts with her family.
Mrs. Koeppe was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Marge Zohlen of Sheboygan, WI and Evelyn Hartenberger of Ridgeland, WI. She is survived by her husband, Bill Koeppe; 3 daughters, Pat Word (Jimmy) of Greenville, Chris Medaille (John) of Irving, TX, and Jan Koeppe of Ganado, TX; eight grandchildren, Beverly Hembree, Jimbo Word, Greg Word, Ann Medaille, Bill Medaille, John Medaille, Kate Bluett, and Dan Medaille; eight great-grandchildren, Marie Filbey, Chad Filbey, Cooper Word, Mia Morgan Word, Cady Hembree, Molly Medaille, Joseph Bluett, and Elijah Bluett; and a special friend, Kathy Schoeneberg.
Special thanks is extended to Mississippi Care Center, Dr. Barry Gillespie, and Dr. Michael Mansour for the care they have given her these past years.
A visitation will be held 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 24 at Boone Funeral Home with a rosary to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
