Funeral services for Margaret Gene Brewer Ritchey, 97, of Indianola will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 21 at Boone Funeral Home, Indianola. She passed away on Thursday, January 18 at her home. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Indianola.
Mrs. Ritchey was born in Alabama on December 11, 1920 to Malciga Enlo Brewer and Sallie Mae Hopper Brewer. She moved with her parents to Mississippi as a child and graduated from Moorehead High School in 1941. While working at the Post Office in Moorehead, she met and married her husband, Edgar M. Ritchey in Grenada, MS on July 12, 1945. They lived in Indianola, Tupelo, and Corinth, MS where he worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company before moving back to Indianola in 1985.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Cecil Edgar Ritchey; brothers, Joel Winston Brewer, Cecil Brewer, William L. Brewer, and Bobby Brewer and sisters, Susie Ray Malone and Sarah Nell McMinn.
She is survived by her son, Donald R. Ritchey of Cleveland, sister, Mary Pearl Dickerson of Bolton and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation at Boone Funeral Home, Indianola one hour prior to the services.
