Funeral Mass for Marie Fratesi Lott, 95, of Indianola will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7 at Immaculate Conception Church in Indianola. She passed away Saturday, August 31 at Indywood Personal Care Home with her family by her side. Burial will be the Indianola City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Indianola.
Marie was born January 29, 1924 to Adele and Cesare Fratesi in Tribbett, MS. She graduated from Leland High School in 1942. Marie went on to work for Bell Telephone Company for 35 years, first as an operator and eventually moving into the business office until her retirement in 1982.
She was a very active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she volunteered for or was elected to every position at their parish including the Ladies Auxiliary, Parish Council, Director of Religious Education, Sacristan, church caretaker and was also a daily communicant.
Marie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and “Nanner” to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Della and Charlie; her husband of 69 years, Dorsey Lott; her brothers Herman Fratesi, Geno Fratesi, and Nello Fratesi; and her sisters Edith Watson, Mary Goheen, and Stella Cuthbertson. She is survived by her son, Stanley Lott of Indianola; granddaughters Emily Conner (Chris) of Allen, TX; Andrea Lott of Dallas, TX and Melanie Lott of Dallas, TX; and 3 great grandchildren Sam Conner, Ben Conner and Phoebe Lott.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 7 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral mass.
