Funeral services for Marie Frazier Hall, 79, of Hollandale will be today at 11:00 a.m. at Hollandale Baptist Church. She died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Mrs. Hall was born in Thomaston, MS to Mr. and Mrs. Quitman C. Frazier, Sr. At a young age she moved to Belzoni where she gradauted from Belzoni High School. She graduated from Delta State University with a bachelor of science degree in education and a major in home economics. She moved to Hollandale in 1958 where she taught junior high and high school home economics at the Hollandale Public School. In 1959 she married William T. Hall, who worked for the U. S. Postal Service. Mr. Hall died in 1988. In 1969 she earned a master of arts degree from the University of Mississippi. She began teaching junior high science and high school family living to boys and girls at Sharkey-Issaquena Academy. In 1979 she joined the faculty at Deer Creek School as a science and family living instructor. Mrs. Hall had taught school for 26 years. In 1984 she left teaching and worked for Twin County Electric Power Association as Assistant Director of Public Relations and later as Director of Public Relations. She retired on January 31, 2002 after 17 1/2 years. She was a member of Hollandale Baptist Church, Leadership of Washington County and the Hollandale Rotary Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Quitman C. Frazier, Jr. and sister, Mary Catherine Wilson.
She is survived by a brother, William C. Frazier of Haughton, LA and a special niece, Patricia Siddon and her family of Avon.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to Hollandale Baptist Church.
