Funeral services for Marjorie Robinson Watford, 78, of Oxford and formerly of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 at her home in Oxford. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Watford was a native of Mississippi moving to Avon at an early age where she graduated from Riverside High School. She married Johnny Watford and they made their home in Greenville until moving to Oxford in 2007. She was a bookkeeper for Judge Little and Greenville Christian School for many years.
She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Greenville. Mrs. Watford loved tennis and gardening and supported her children in their sporting activities. Her grandchildren were the love of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Watford, Sr. of Oxford; two daughters, Lisa Watford of Oklahoma City, OK and Missy Pearson (Keith) of Oxford; two sons, Johnny Watford, Jr. (Beth) of Morton, MS and Chris Watford (Nicki) of Oxford; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be made to the Yellow Leaf Baptist Church Building Fund, 50 CR 435, Oxford, MS 38655 or to The Hugs Project, 4449 NW 50th, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
