Graveside services for Martha Jo Cockerhan, 88, of Leland will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. She passed away on January 10, 2020 at Cypress Pond Assisted Living in Tifton, Georgia. Graveside services will be under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
She was born May 13, 1931 In Oktibbeha County, MS. Mrs. Cockerhan was the daughter of the late Henry and Gladys Butts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Cockerhan who passed away in 2013. Mrs. Cockerhan was a homemaker and owned Indianola Flower Shop.
Mrs. Cockerhan was a member of First Baptist Church in Leland. She enjoyed playing bridge, painting, and sewing. She also enjoyed her granddaughter, sweets, and most of all, laughing.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan and her husband Gordon Hughes; a granddaughter, Meredith and her husband Alan Manning; a great granddaughter, Dabney; a brother, Watson Butts; a sister, Gretchen Fitzpatrick, a nephew and two nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to First Baptist Church of Leland or AARF.
