Martha “Mug” Tanksley Fratesi

Martha “Mug” Tanksley Fratesi, 87, of Leland, died November 19, 2017 in Greenville, Mississippi.  Graveside services will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, November 22 at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.  Father Alphonse Arulanandu of St. James Catholic Church, Leland Mississippi will officiate the service.

 

Mug was born July 8, 1930 in Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School.  Mug raised five children, worked for many years in the insurance business and served the community at the Leland Blues Museum.  She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church in Leland. 

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charlie L. Fratesi.  She is survived by her children Bonita Courson of Madison, Mickey Fratesi of Leland, Terry Fratesi of Leland, James Fratesi of Florence, South Carolina, and Joey (Beverly) Fratesi of Leland.  Her survivors include her grandchildren Allen Courson (Nikki) of Southaven, Justin Courson of Jackson, Emily Jackson (Todd) of Jackson, Mickey Fratesi, Jr. of Tupelo, Paige Salstrand (Lain) of Alameda, California, Lane Zinger (Gareth) of Pass Christian, Kelly Fratesi of Denver, Colorado, Jamee Zepponi (Brett) of Tupelo, Marshall Fratesi (Abbey) of Oxford, Stephanie Fratesi of Hattiesburg, Alex Fratesi of Leland and nine great-grandchildren.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations are made to St. James Catholic Church in Leland, Mississippi or in her memory to a charity of your choice.
