Martin Earl Long, Sr.

Funeral services for Martin Earl Long, Sr., 62, of Hollandale will be at 10:30 a.m, Monday, November 11, 2013 at Hollandale Baptist Church.  He died Friday, November 8, 2013 at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson.  Burial will be in Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

Mr. Long was born in Big Creek, MS on December 2, 1950 to Elic and Essie Lewis Long.  They moved to Hollandale in 1953 where he graduated from Hollandale High School and he then attended Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead.  He was employed as manager in the Propane business for over 40 years and spent the last year with his son in carpentry.  Mr. Long was with the Hollandale Fire Department  for over 30 years and recently served as Assistant Fire Chief.  He was an avid hunter and had a love for horses.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Brenda Long Jennings and Becky Long Walters.  He is survived by his wife Gay Keith Long of Hollandale; daughter, Amanda L. Domino (Chris) of Hollandale; son, Marty Earl Long, Jr. (Dixie) of Rolling Fork; sister, Aline White of Jackson; brother, Johnny Long of Grenada; and 5 grandchildren, Mason Long, Dylan Lofton, Jacob Domino, Sydney Domino and Taylor Schmidt.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Boone Chapel in Hollandale.
