Martin Pickett Myers IV

Graveside services for Martin Pickett Myers IV, 72, of Greenville, a retired Delta farmer, will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Greenville Cemetery. He passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville, MS.

He was born in Greenville, MS, on June 20, 1950, the son of Elizabeth “Betty” Langston Myers and Martin Pickett Myers III. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1968 and attended Mississippi State University. He has been a farmer in the Mississippi Delta for 52 years.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Carr, and daughters Maray McIntyre (Josh), Oma Moore (Mike), Marin Touchstone (T.J.), Conerly Burrell (Bryan), grandchildren, Drew Myers Stewart and Steele Martin Burrell (Conerly), Tabb Norman Touchstone III and Tucker Martin Touchstone (Marin), Hudson Michael Moore (Oma), Mary Catherine “Cate” McIntyre (Maray), stepson, Viron “Gunnar” T Kersh IV (Sheridan), step grandson, Ezra Blue Kersh, and close friend, Nathaniel Walker. Martin was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Betty Myers and Pickett Myers, sisters, Dixie Atwell and Rebecca Carnes.

Martin was a good friend and blessing to many. He enjoyed farming, tinkering around with carpentry, and keeping an excellent lawn. He was an avid card player and enjoyed his time at the Greenville Yacht Club. Martin was a chartered member of Trinity United Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Trustees, administrative council, and as president of the United Methodist Men’s Club. He loved running the show for the church’s pancake breakfast and fulfilling the needs of the food pantry. In his youth, he spent time on the lake boating and water skiing. He also found a love for tennis and watching his daughter’s sporting activities. He was born to be a girl dad and delighted in his time with all his daughters and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 850 McAllister Street, Greenville, MS 38701.
