Marvin “Bubby” Eugene Taylor

A celebration of life service for Marvin “Bubby” Eugene Taylor, 80 of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Cornerstone Baptist Church.  He entered Heaven’s gates on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.

Marvin had accepted Jesus as his savior.  He was born on February 5, 1943, in Vaiden, MS to JP and Ethel Taylor.  He had 11 siblings.

Marvin started serving in the U.S. Army in 1962, where he was stationed in Germany.  He married his wife Jackie in 1966 and were happily wed for 56 years.  They had one daughter, Beth, and two grandchildren, Jamie, and Shelby.  Marvin retired from Friedman Steele in 2003.  Before that, he worked for Lance delivering snacks for the Delta for 12 years.  He lived life to the fullest, from enjoying lake days in his younger years to dragging Jackie to the casino.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Charles, Jimmy, Cecil, Earl Wayne, and his sister, Ola Pearl.  He is survived in love by his wife, Jackie, daughter, Beth (Bobby) Shepherd, grandchildren, Jamie (Haylee) Tarpley and Shelby (Nic) Tadlock, brothers, James (Shirley), Jack (Cheryl), Bill (Bonnie), Bob (Teresa) and sisters, Mary Ethel (Billy) Bowles and Betty (Terry) Ellington.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church.
