Funeral services for Marvin Giles Saulter, Jr., 71, of Leland will be at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. He died Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his daughter’s home. Burial will be in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
He was born March 27, 1950 to Marvin G. Saulter, Sr. and Virginia Lucille Moody Saulter. He is preceded in death by his parents, along with brother, Roy Saulter and 2 nephews, Stanley Hughes and Jackson Gray Saulter.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Beverly Bittle Saulter of Greenville; daughter, Lisa Saulter (Phillip Krasner) of Greenville/Cleveland; son, Marvin G. Saulter III of Leland; grandsons, Brandon Gage (Lauran) Saulter of Greenville, Colby Brooks of Greenville, and Dustyn Applewhite of Vicksburg; granddaughter, Madeline Saulter of Biloxi; brother, Stanley Saulter of Greenville; two sisters, Virginia Ann Painter of Bristol, VA and Carolyn Taylor of Clinton, MS, along with a host of nieces and other family.
Marvin was a long time resident of Leland, MS. He retired from Mississippi State University Delta Research and Extension Service at Stoneville in 2019 as station mechanic. He was also the owner and proprietor of Saulter Auto Repair in Leland. He was an avid aviator from a young age, with a passion for flying, loving all things airplane, including R/C.
He loved to play the guitar and entertain people and he loved a good argument. He will be missed by those who knew and loved his stubborn self.
There will be a visitation from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in Leland.
